Chengdu Normal University founded in 1955, is funded and administered directly by Sichuan Educational Department of Sichuan Provincial government. There are three campuses: Ren Min Nan Lu, Wen Jiang and Bai Guo Lin. It has 19 departments and 687 professional teachers.

The university has academic and technical leaders at provincial level. 5 experts enjoy state council’s special allowance and work for the Ministry of Education of China, and 2 people are excellent experts of the province. Moreover, there are 14 people are in the national and provincial academic groups as chairman, president, and secretary-general, and some of them are Director of Sichuan Psychology Society, Vice-chairperson of Sichuan Writer’s Association, Vice-chairperson of Sichuan Artist’s Association. In recent year, teachers in the university have won 15 prizes at provincial level and national level, and undertaken 31 research projects at provincial level. Since the 11th Five-Year Plan, teachers have got the university has pubished 1426 scientific research achievements, including 189 monographs and teaching materials, 73 SCI, EI papers, and 222 core journals papers. Furthermore, Sichuan Psychology Society and Sichuan Education Society of TaoShingzhi Studies are affiliated to Chengdu Normal University and they have established 12 research institutes which are Teacher Education Research Institution, Rurual education and Teacher’s Development Research Institution, Occupational Education Research Institution and Pre-school’s Development Research Institution. There is a cooperative relationship successively with a kindergarten and a middle school attached to the unversity. 121 practice training base have been built up in the university; meanwhile, Chengdu Normal University has cooperated with sizeable enterprises such as WAL-MART, China Railway Group and Dong Cai Group.
